Kylie Minogue accepted the Global Icon award at the BRIT Awards 2024 and also performed during Saturday’s ceremony at London’s O2 Arena.

Dua Lipa, who won the Pop Act award and was a fellow performer at the BRITs, presented the award to Minogue. The Australian pop star has scored nine UK number one albums and seven UK number one singles throughout her career spanning more than three decades. As the announcer said during the broadcast, “Kylie is a master of musical reinvention.”

Minogue thanked everyone who accompanied her for her professional career and also congratulated those who came after her. “Okay, I’m just going to be sobbing to Raye. Raye, you did it,” she said of the singer who made history by winning six awards at the 2024 Brits.

“It’s been a lifetime (36 years and counting) of experiences together, and what really gets me is the love of music and the connection with people.” She added that “there is a part of me that is still the 14-year-old girl in her room that dreams of making music and being in this industry.” She then thanked the students of the BRIT school and encouraged them to pursue their dreams.

“I just feel you. I feel your promise and I am so excited for you,” she said. “And here I am with this. And everything is possible.”

Minogue also closed the night with an electrifying medley. She began her performance dressed in a bright red dress as she towered above the stage on a small platform as she launched into “Padam Padam.” Once the platform she was on lowered to reach the level of the stage, she transitioned into other outfits and other eras, joining the futuristic dancers backing her up. She took off her red outer dress and appeared in a black dress with white trim to deliver her 2001 megahit, “Ca n’t Get You Out of My Head.”

But that wasn’t the only trick up the artist’s sleeve. A group of people dressed in black capes and masks joined her on stage as she did another costume change on stage, removing her black dress to reveal a white one before launching into “Love at First Sight.”

“Thank you very much,” he said as he walked down the center stage catwalk. “Thank you for being on this incredible journey with me,” she continued before delivering the euphoric “All the Lovers” to close her nearly seven-minute performance at the 2024 Brit Awards.
