Recently, at the Filmfare Award, the duo was captured in a beautiful moment together.
Ranbir, who was seen wearing a blingie jacket and a hat, was seen dance to the song’Jamal Kudu‘ from Animal, while trying to balance a glass on his head. He was joined by his wife Alia, who looked stunning in a deconstructed off-shoulder saree. While he was performing, Ranbir even gave his wife a kiss on the cheek. Have a look…
While in the film and Ranbir, Animal focuses on a man struggling with a tumultuous relationship with his father, delving into themes of darkness and violence. Despite facing criticism for its violent and misogynistic portrayal, Ranbir believes the film has sparked a crucial and “healthy” conversation about toxic masculinity in society.
When the film recently released on OTT, the actor sat down to spread the word about ‘Animal’ and addressed conversations around toxic masculinity. Ranbir said: “It’s also started a very healthy conversation about toxic masculinity, which is great because cinema at least starts a conversation. If something is wrong, if you don’t show it’s wrong, and unless the conversation begins in society, we will never realize it.
He highlighted the role of cinema in starting debates and underlined the importance of portraying flawed characters. “So the roles we play are characters. It’s very important that as actors we have empathy for them because we need to play them. But as an audience, you have to decide what’s wrong. You can make a movie about it.” wrong person and it should be done. Because if a film is not made about them, society will never improve,” Ranbir added. Co-star Bobby Deol echoed his sentiments and noted, “Storytelling is the reflection of society. “It shows you what’s happening in society and there’s a lot of things we don’t want to talk about.”
‘Animal’, featuring a cast including Anil Kapoor, Rashmika Mandanna and Triptii Dimri, crossed the Rs 900 crore mark worldwide, despite debates surrounding its content.
