Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai had a traditional South Indian wedding in 2007.

Aishwarya Rai Bachchan, in an old interview, revealed that she and her husband, actor Abhishek Bachchan, would fight “every day”.

Abhishek Bachchan and Aishwarya Rai dated for a short period of time before getting married in April 2007. They welcomed their daughter Aaradhya Bachchan in November 2011. Abhishek and Aishwarya have starred together in several films such as Dhoom 2 (2006), Guru (2007). and Raavan (2010), among others.

Talking about their marriage, the couple was once asked how often they fight. Aishwarya was quick to respond, telling Vogue India in July 2010, “Oh, every day.” However, Abhishek clarified, “But they are more like disagreements, not fights. They are not serious, they are healthy. Otherwise, it would be very boring.”

Abhishek also said that he is always the first to apologize and make peace. “Women do not reconcile! But we have a rule: we don’t fall asleep during a fight. And in defense of all men, I want to tell you that half the time the reason we give up and say sorry is because we are very sleepy and want to go to bed. Plus, women are the master race and they are always right. The sooner men accept that, the better. No matter what you say, even if you have concrete evidence, in their world it is useless, meaningless.”

More recently, a video of Aishwarya talking about her Roka ceremony with Abhishek went viral on social media. In the viral video, Aishwarya said, “There is something called Roka. We are South Indians so I don’t know anything called Roka. Suddenly, there is a call from his (Abhishek’s) house to ours saying, “We are coming.” My dad was out of town and we said, ‘Okay.’ I said, ‘Dad,’ and he said, ‘Yes, it will still take me a day to come.'”

“So this Roka is happening with a call to my father who is out of town. Mom is here, we are here. Everyone comes in and they’re excited and I’m like, ‘Oh my God, it’s happened.’ Then they say, “Come on, let’s go home.” I wonder, ‘What just happened here? Is this a commitment?’” Aishwarya recalled during an interview with Filmfare.
