When Shreya Ghoshal spoke about actors singing for films: ‘Alia’s Samjhawan…’

Shreya Ghoshal, who turned 40 on Tuesday, is one of India’s most versatile singers and has lent her voice to many songs over the years. Shreya was asked if it bothers her if actors sing a song and the publicity of the film depends on it. She had said, “That happened to me only once, which was Samjhawan from Humpty Sharma Ki Dulhania. I understand that people do it to promote themselves. It doesn’t hinder me. Maybe it’s just to make the cash registers ring. But when “If someone think about the song, the first names to come up would be Shreya and Arijit. Like the producer, director and actors, the audience is also aware of the fact that Alia lent her voice for the promotion of the film.”

Shreya talked about other singers

She had also expressed her feelings about singers who sound like her. “That’s fine as long as we make good music. I’ve always given my heartfelt encouragement to new artists. Sometimes if I hear a song and I have access to the artist, I’ll pick up my phone and say, “I appreciate that. Sunidhi Chauhan and I have done it several times. I’m fine with people being inspired by me, as long as they finally find their own voice,” she had said.
