The WWE Royal Rumble 2024, from St. Petersburg, Florida, announced a match for the WWE Undisputed Universal Championship as Roman Reigns defended his historic reign against LA Knight, Randy Orton and AJ Styles. The Rumble also announced wrestler Logan Paul, who is not your average celebrity, defending his United States Championship against Kevin Owens.
Of course, the headline matches of the event were the men’s and women’s Royal Rumble, with CM Punk as the favorite to win the men’s Royal Rumble and Bayley as the favorite to win the women’s Royal Rumble.

Hulk Hogan appeared in a video package previewing the Royal Rumble card.
For the second year in a row, Pat McAfee made a surprise appearance, not at the Royal Rumble, but as a commentator. This time, however, Michael Cole knew everything.
Natalya entered at the No. 1 spot, meaning there is no way there will be back-to-back winners from the No. 1 position.
Contestant #2 was the first surprise contestant of the night: Florida’s own Naomi. The former TNA Knockouts Champion showed no ring rust in her early exchanges with Natalya.
The cameraman struggled trying to keep up with Candice LeRae as she entered the ring.
Michael Cole said we’ve never had two WWE Royal Rumble winners. Bret Hart and Lex Luger from 1994 say hello.
Bianca Belair performed an impressive springboard backflip over three women.
Piper Niven caught Chelsea Green falling and jokingly dropped her, only to laugh and put her back in the ring.
Michael Cole made a Freudian slip by accidentally calling Piper “Nia.”
Valhalla came in at 24th and Michael Cole scored because he was wearing antlers. Suddenly, she was interrupted by R-Truth. Nia Jax quickly removed the truth, as did Valhalla.
Jade Cargill came in at #28 with a big pop, eliminating Nia Jax. Tiffany Stratton followed her.
Naomi was eliminated after one hour, setting a Royal Rumble record for longest duration.
The Final 3 was between Bayley, Jade Cargill and Liv Morgan, and Bayley prevailed.
Women’s Royal Rumble Grade: B
Roman Reigns Def. AJ Styles, Roman Reigns and Randy Orton
After a well-placed Slim Jim product placement and long ring entrances and introductions, This Fatal-4 Way quickly spread outside where LA Knight made use of the title announcement.
AJ Styles went back to his standard ring and looked much better.
There was little to no heat to this match from the start as fans knew who was going to win and just wanted to see the men’s Royal Rumble. In fact, the only heat this match had early on was whenever LA Knight got involved.
The match gained energy when Randy Orton hit a series of RKOs out of nowhere. Staying true to form, Solo Sikoa interfered when Orton had the opportunity to pin Roman Reigns. Cinema (rolls eyes).
After a couple of near falls, this Fatal 4-Way was met with chants of “this is awesome.”
WWE Undisputed Universal Championship Fatal 4-Way Grade: B
Kevin Owens defeats. logan paul
This match was a stalemate, as a world title match had to follow and come before the men’s Royal Rumble.
Staying true to his promise, Kevin Owens was not wearing the cast.
The story of this match began when Logan Paul worked on Kevin Owens’ injured right hand.
Paul continued to show off his impressive athleticism as he flew around the ring against Kevin Owens.
Logan Paul mocked Corey Graves and said, “You said no man can superplex Kevin Owens!” Owens quickly responded with a modified suplex.
Despite it being a proverbial “relegation fight,” the fans really got into this one.
Grayson Waller and Austin Theory came to the ring while Paul’s bully Jeff distracted the referee. They gave Paul brass knuckles and Kevin Owens stopped them and used them. At about two and three quarters in, referee Ryan Tran saw the brass knuckles and disqualified Kevin Owens.

In a possible preview of WrestleMania, Jimmy and Jey Uso started the Royal Rumble match, and fans were excited for it.
Grayson Waller featured an impromptu “Grayson Waller Effect” on his way to the ring at #3.
Andrade made his surprise return to WWE at #4 and received even more pop when he removed his mask.
Pat McAfee entered the Royal Rumble at #22 and lasted only 38 seconds before eliminating himself. He didn’t want to smoke with Breakker, Omos and GUNTHER. Michael Cole gloated about remaining the longest-lasting announcer in Royal Rumble history at 1:24.
R-Truth entered the Royal Rumble at #24 and scored the first hot tag in Royal Rumble history.
The Final Four was CM Punk, Cody Rhodes, Drew McIntyre and GUNTHER. World champions Drew McIntyre and Roman Reigns watched from their respective boxes.
CM Punk and Cody Rhodes made it to a heated Final 2. Punk received a mixed reaction throughout the match. The “Cody” chants were much louder.
CM Punk hit Rhodes with a Pedigree and then said, “Can you believe I did that s**t?”
