The 34 million subscriber figure is confirmed to include Xbox Game Pass Core members. Introduced in mid-2023, Xbox Game Pass Core was the replacement service for Xbox Live Gold and gives members access to multiplayer and a curated selection of 25+ games from the entire Game Pass library.

Microsoft revealed during a special Xbox podcast episode that there are currently 34 million Game Pass subscribers on consoles, PC and the cloud.

It’s unclear how exactly that 34 million figure is distributed between each platform where Game Pass is offered. However, Xbox head Phil Spencer offered a bit of information on the matter, telling Stephen Totilo’s Game File Newsletter that the service has recently seen strong growth on PC and cloud. He also confirmed that every one of Game Pass’ 34 million members is a paying subscriber.

“When there are a fixed number of console gamers on the planet, you’re not going to grow Game Pass forever by only distributing it on consoles,” Spencer said. “So we’re seeing really significant growth in PC, which is fantastic, and in the cloud.”

The edge It has also confirmed with Microsoft that that 34 million figure includes Xbox Game Pass Core. For those unfamiliar, last summer Microsoft phased out its Xbox Live Gold program and starting September 14, those who were still subscribed to the service saw their accounts automatically upgraded to a new tier called Core of the game pass.
