The Yuvajana Sramika Rythu Congress Party (YSRCP) on Thursday attacked its rival parties in Andhra Pradesh, the Telugu Desam Party and the Jana Sena Party for allegedly circulating a fake government order claiming that the YSRCP had made all arrangements for the screening of “Former Andhra Pradesh Chief Minister YS Rajashekhara Reddy’s biopic ‘Yatra 2’ in theatres”. He also published the government order regarding the screening of ‘Yatra 2’ in theaters and termed it as fake.

Earlier, during the screening of the film at Prasads Multiplex Hyderabad, a clash broke out between two groups – one belonging to the Jana Sena Party and the other to the YSR party. The confrontation led the theater owners to suspend the screening of the film, The Hindu reported Thursday.

Meanwhile, the YSRCP has promoted the film through its official name at X. It has shared several clips of party workers participating in celebrations near the cinema premises where the film is being screened.

Yatra 2, directed by Mahi V Raghav, released in theaters on Thursday. A sequel to the 2019 biopic Yatra, it continues the narrative of YS Rajasekhara Reddy’s life.
