The actress had all eyes on her when she arrived at the ‘star-studded’Dune: Part Two‘ World Premiere with a daring futuristic robot suit. The 27-year-old, who plays warrior Chani in the franchise, opposite Timothée ChalametPaul Atreides attracted attention when he took to the brown carpet in London’s Leicester Square.
For the big night, the leading lady stepped forward in a piece of fashion history, wearing a Thierry Mugler couture robot suit from his fall/winter 1995 collection. The silver suit with transparent sections revealed a suit naked underneath. Exposed panels ran down the back of her costume, including two that framed her backside.
Shortly after her big appearance, fans took to social media to share their shock and amazement. Sharing photos of her and favorite videos of the actress, fans said, “Zendaya, have mercy!”
In addition to fans and the media going crazy over her appearance, Zendaya’s boyfriend, Tom Holland, who was also at the screening, was seen standing on tiptoe to see her as she arrived at the event. Tom reportedly arrived at the screening along with his family to support Zendaya.
When photos of her first outfit from behind started going viral, she swapped out her battle-ready armor for a classic black dress. Zendaya’s dress had a simple silhouette and she wore it with statement earrings and an emerald ring. She kept her hair and makeup the same.
The second installment of the science fiction epic, directed by Denis Villeneuve takes audiences back to Arrakis for its 2021 ‘Dune’ follow-up, with Chalamet’s lead character Paul Atreides joining forces with Zendaya’s Chani and the locals of Arrakis, called Fremen, to seek revenge against those who killed his father.
Set in a future where noble families rule planetary fiefdoms, the franchise is based on the acclaimed 1965 novel of the same name by author Frank Herbert. It addresses politics, religion, the fight for precious resources and the environment.
‘Dune: Part Two’, whose release was delayed from the end of last year due to the Hollywood actors’ strike, begins its world premiere in theaters on February 28.
