Sofía Vergara has been criticized for her portrayal of Griselda Blanco by the son of the late Colombian drug trafficker.

The Colombian actress, 51, plays the drug lord in the Netflix series “Griselda” and is almost unrecognizable in the role.

But according to Blanco’s son, Michael Corleone Blanco, the “Modern Family” alum’s portrayal of his late mother is nothing short of “disrespectful.”

“Sofía Vergara did not consult with any member of the Blanco family as a sign of respect or to obtain family details when portraying my mother,” said Blanco, 45. told Fox News.

“When I found out about the ‘Griselda’ project, my team approached the Sofia camp and offered my consulting services.”

He claimed that Vergara, who serves as the show’s executive producer, and her team told him there was “no room in the project” to consult with him or any other members of his family.

“Sofía’s camp and the Netflix creators were disrespectful and ultimately produced the ‘Griselda’ project themselves for commercial gain, without key details from the Blanco family,” he told the outlet.

“After the meeting, my lawyers formally sent a cease and desist letter to Netflix and Sofia’s camp. To this day, neither Netflix nor Sofia’s side have made any attempt to reconcile.”

“Regardless of public information, basic respect is warranted,” he continued. “I am the only living child of Griselda who has life rights agreements signed by Griselda herself in which she intended for me to carry out the story of her life.”
